Located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, Bonita Beach is
south of Fort Myers and north of Naples. The Bonita Beach / Bonita Springs area
has become very dynamic and popular with tourists and visitors who are
attracted to the area's numerous white, sandy beaches and mild tropical
climate. The many canals and the back bay areas provide a

still find an assortment of wildlife refuges and sanctuaries. The Corkscrew
Swamp Sanctuary offers many activities for the tourist or visitor including
natures tours and a look at some of the area animal and plant life in pristine
swamp and shoreline areas. The Sanctuary encompasses 11,000 acres of pristine
wetland area east of Bonita Springs and is home to the only white wood stork
nesting in the country. Nature lovers will find many other species of birds,
turtles, manatee and various wildlife as well as a variety of tropical foliage.
